Casey Revkin Ryan is a West Coast representative of the volunteer network Immigrant Families Together, which is dedicated to reuniting families separated by the White House’s current policies. Their most urgent task is bonding parents out of detention. In the last 16 months, they have freed 84 immigrants (with bonds of $1500 to more than $80,000), most of whom are parents or caregivers who were then reunited with their kids. A vast web of volunteer efforts and donations then assist with everything from housing and transportation to legal representation and groceries, until their asylum case is adjudicated. Want to do something about the crisis at the border but don’t know where to start? Come meet Casey on Sunday October 20.
