Kol Nidre, the evening that initiates Yom Kippur, is a highlight of the Sholem calendar. Informed by Jewish traditions in music and in spoken word, we reflect on our lives and the state of the world through a humanistic and progressive prism. A moving opportunity to renew ourselves for the upcoming year; to grieve our losses and enable our hopes.

The deadline to submit for the IN MEMORIAM slide show is Monday 10/7, end of day. We are unable to accept In Memoriam requests after that date.
YIZKER is free and names may be submitted electronically until Thursday, 10/10. You will also be able to submit Yizker names in person from approximately 6:30pm – 7:00pm on Friday, 10/11 at the Robert Frost Auditorium. Submitted names of loved ones who have passed during this year will be read from the podium during the observance.
A SPECIAL APPEAL:
Due to extenuating circumstances, our Kol Nidre this year is taking place at an elegant and spacious but more expensive venue. If you can, please help us cover the unexpected increase with a $200 SUPPORTER ticket. Supporter tickets include $80 for admission, a tax receipt for a $120 donation, and the option to receive special thanks in Sholem’s newsletter.

PARKING INFORMATION: Please do not park in the immediate surrounding neighborhoods.
To avoid citations, free self-parking is available in these designated parking lots:
- Corner of Elenda and Farragut – South of the Robert Frost Auditorium. Between the Culver City Middle School and Farragut Elementary.
- Huron Gate – From Elenda, head west on Braddock. Entrance is on the south of Braddock.
- Harter Gate – From Elenda, head west on Braddock. Pass Huron and go south on Harter. Parking is on your left.
- Overflow parking – South East corner of Culver Blvd. and Elenda St. North of Robert Frost Auditorium.
